Consequently, Nets has a strong focus on safeguarding our customers’ personal data and is now looking to strengthen its Compliance & Regulatory team with a GDPR Risk Officer, to support and advise Group Functions on GDPR matters and to ensure risk transparency.

Nets is looking for a talented lawyer (cand.jur / cand.merc.jur) with a proven track record of working with data protection law and practices for a minimum of 2 years of and a general seniority post-graduation of 3-5 years. It is a huge plus if you have worked in an international context and have gained experience and knowledge about legislation in other jurisdictions, and experience in 2nd line of defence is also a plus. Further, it would be excellent if you have certifications of your data protection knowledge via international certification schemes.


Your main responsibilities as GDPR Risk Officer will be to drive and take responsibility for legal support to Nets’ group functions in the field of GDPR and will include the following tasks:

  • Being a top-class subject matter expert on GDPR and advise and guide Group Functions (Group HR and Group CFO-area (Finance, Procurement, Legal, Risk and Communication) on general and specific data protection related questions and issues in a business oriented and risk transparent way,
  • Monitor changes in regulations, interpretation of national data protection laws as well as GDPR and facilitate implementation in the Group,
  • Participate with expert GDPR knowledge in internal projects, ensuring the compliance and regulatory concerns are sufficiently mitigated,
  • Assist and consult on data breach management in collaboration with the Group DPO and the business,
  • Develop and conduct training and awareness activities to the Group on data protection matters,
  • Ability to serve and prioritize multiple stakeholders’ requests for guidance and support in multifaceted domains, and
  • Participate in new business projects, DPIA-procedures, compliance level audits etc.

You are capable of striking the right balance between building relationships with key internal stakeholders whilst maintaining independence and being able to challenge GDPR business leads effectively. You have business acumen and know how to balance between law and business with strong skills in interpreting and communicating complex laws and regulations to stakeholders across functions and levels.

You have strong analytical skills and work structured, efficient and meet deadlines. You are execution focused and independent in providing high quality deliverables, and you have the ability to adapt to change quickly, with ever changing requirements and organizational changes. Finally, your personality is characterized by being energised and willing to walk the extra mile to succeed in your role.

Education:  Master of laws degree or cand.merc.jur and possibly license to practice as attorney-at-law (advokat).
Work experience:  Minimum 3 – 5 years of post-graduate work experience preferably from a consultancy, law firm or in-house legal role.
GDPR:      Minimum 2 years of practical experience with advising on and implementing GDPR.
Business acumen: Ability to balance law and business and interpret and communicate complex laws and regulations to stakeholders across functions and levels.
International:   International mindset and fluency in English and Danish, orally and written, and preferably good understanding of Scandinavian languages.



Structured & analytical: Strong analytical skills and the ability to work structured and efficiently.
Collaboration:    Good ability to cooperate and establish relationships within the company and externally.
Communication: Clear communicator with the ability to keep things clear and relate legal compliance to a commercial context in a practical and operational way.
Responsible:  Willing to take responsibility, set priorities, meet deadlines and challenge GDPR business leads constructively and effectively.
