As Legal Counsel, Sweden VELOCITY, you will provide strategic leadership and robust legal advice across a broad range of legal matters, and as a member of the VELOCITY team, contribute to the development and implementation of sustainable, integrated business strategies and plans aligned with BAT’s objectives. VELOCITY is a newly established innovation hub created to advance BAT’s modern oral innovation agenda and support the development of future-focused product solutions.
The role is an integral part of the Nordic Legal team and will report directly to the Head of Legal, Nordics. As Legal Counsel, Sweden VELOCITY, you will proactively provide the business with high-quality legal advice, guidance and support, with a strong focus on commercial, regulatory and marketing matters. You will manage business-related legal matters and minimise legal risks, ensure compliance with applicable legislation – particularly in areas such as competition law and privacy – as well as internal standards and principles, and provide legislative guidance and support in relation to BAT’s regulatory activities.

You will drive legal workstreams across a wide range of legal areas, including commercial contracts, marketing and activation strategies and execution across multiple touchpoints (including e-commerce, digital marketing and retail), as well as strategic litigation, regulatory matters, product development and manufacturing compliance.
Since Sweden is one of the pioneering markets when it comes to new categories, a lot of product development and trials are based there. This means numerous new regulatory legal aspects for the Legal Team to take into consideration and advise on to different stakeholders.
