RESOLVA is assisting BeGreen with recruitment of a Senior Legal Counsel – EPC.
BeGreen is a growing and highly successful solar PV company looking for an ambitious and talented attorney with a proven track record within EPC contracts and project work to take on the role as Senior Legal Counsel – EPC in the legal team.
As part of the legal function in BeGreen you will be working very independently focusing on drafting and negotiating EPC contracts, advising teams and management about all aspects of EPC contracts, and handling claims and disputes related to the construction phase and also contracts associated with management and servicing of projects. The work will in addition to your strong legal skillset require all your project management skills as the lawyers at BeGreen play a key role as team members in projects. You will also be exposed to a broader range of legal tasks as the legal team gets involved in all legal aspects of the solar park projects.
Responsibilities
As Senior Legal Counsel – EPC you will be required to:
- Take-lead and be responsible for the legal aspects of BeGreen EPC activities such as:
- Preparing, reviewing, drafting and negotiating EPC contracts and related contracts relevant to the EPC (construction) project phase.
- Ensuring compliance of EPC contracts with the applicable legislation, e.g. title documents under the projects and corporate standards.
- Providing legal support of pre-claim and claim activities related to EPC activities.
- Further expand on and conceptualize the manner in which BeGreen structures its EPC activities from a legal perspective.
- Work closely together with and advise other stakeholders in BeGreen, especially the technical department and procurement & logistical department as well as dedicated project managers.
- Work with management with respect to reporting on the legal aspects of BeGreen’s EPC activities and related claims.
- Instruct and work together with external legal advisors on BeGreen’s EPC contracts and claims.

Titel: Senior Legal Counsel – EPC
Ideal skills
Education: You have a Master of Laws and preferably also license to practice as attorney-at-law from a reputable law firm.
EPC Projects: You have a minimum of 5 years of experience working with EPC projects and related contracts either as in-house counsel or lawyer from a reputable law firm, and you have strong negotiation skills.
Energy industry: Ideally, your professional experience includes working with EPC projects in the energy industry, e.g. in renewables (solar, bio or wind).
Disputes: You have experience with claims and disputes with respect to construction activities.
Language skills: You are fluent in English and have solid experience with legal English in relation to drafting. Knowledge of Danish is a plus.

BeGreen is one of the first companies in Northern Europe to build solar PV parks and produce certified green energy without receiving subsidies of any kind, while still delivering attractive electricity prices for consumers and a stable, high return for its investors.
BeGreen specialises in developing and selling large-scale solar PV plants, and its clients include major institutional investors. BeGreen sells its projects as turnkey plants with appropriate long-term service and maintenance agreements to ensure alignment of interest with its clients in both the short and long term. BeGreen has operations in Denmark, Sweden and Poland. BeGreen was founded by and is currently still part of the Bregentved Group, owned by the Moltke family since 1746. However, on 2 November 2022 the global energy company Equinor announced its acquisition of 100% of BeGreen. The transaction remains subject to regulatory approval. Following closing of the transaction, BeGreen is set to continue its operations in the Equinor group, and BeGreen is therefore continuing its upscaling efforts.
BeGreen remains committed to its projects and takes responsibility for operating and managing its solar PV parks and ensuring that parks are running smoothly and providing the highest reliability of supply available.
BeGreen’s organization works from the offices in Haslev, Göteborg and Copenhagen and includes approx. 40 employees. The legal team consists of a Head of Legal Christoffer Kjærgaard Danielsen and three commercial lawyers. From providing legal assistance to getting involved in almost every legal aspect of the solar park projects, the legal team team plays a vital role in BeGreen in all phases of the life cycle of BeGreen’s solar projects (development, construction, operations & maintenance) whether this relates to contracting, regulatory support, compliance, project management etc.
