JOB DESCRIPTION

RESOLVA is assisting Innargi with the recruitment of an experienced and talented legal profile with a proven track record within legal aspects of international business development, preferably within energy related or other long-term projects.

The legal team at Innargi currently consists of two professionals and is in the process of scaling up due to the growth in Innargi’s activities and the derived increased demand for legal support throughout the organisation. The team is headed by General Counsel Anne Angaard Nord and is based in Lyngby (HQ).

Being involved in all legal workstreams across Innargi’s activities and contributing with legal support in all phases of the geothermal energy projects, the legal team plays a vital role in the organisation.

The legal team assists within a broad range of legal areas and interacts with a variety of internal and external stakeholders in the various jurisdictions where Innargi operates.

As Senior Legal Counsel, you will report to the General Counsel, and you will be entrusted to play a key role in developing Innargi’s contract strategy and to draft and negotiate customer contracts to support the international business development team as Innargi moves their business into new jurisdictions. You will be working in a small legal team but with great support and you will be assisting colleagues across multiple functions and jurisdictions.

Innargi is looking for a legal profile who is structured and pays close attention to detail while at the same time being mindful of the big picture and capable of advising in a broader context. The role requires excellent communication skills, and the person taking on the role should be comfortable with flagging and challenging processes and decisions that impose legal or regulatory risks.

There will be occasional travel activities associated with the role, primarily to locations outside of Denmark in Northern Europe.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

In the role as Senior Legal Counsel, your main tasks will be the following:

  • Developing a contracting strategy and a contractual framework in connection with Innargi’s expansion of its business to new jurisdictions, in cooperation with the international business development team.
  • Advising on regulatory matters related to Innargi’s commercial activities, e.g. pricing and licensing regulation in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating customer contracts, including long term heat supply contracts, in close cooperation with relevant business units and external foreign legal counsels.
  • Overseeing the work performed by, and the relationship with, Innargi’s external legal counsels on an overall basis to ensure cost efficiency and best-in-class external legal advice.
  • Taking part in structuring the commercial and corporate work-flows in the legal team to ensure scalability to support the company’s growth.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES

Education: A master’s degree in law (cand.jur., cand.merc.jur. or international equivalent).

Work experience: At least 6 years post-graduation experience from working with transactional work and related contracts, preferable in relation to energy projects or M&A transactions, as a lawyer in a law firm and/or as inhouse counsel.

Industry: Ideally, practical experience with the energy industry, e.g. from working in a renewable energy company (geothermal, bio, solar or wind).

Legal fields: Preferably good knowledge of commercial law and energy regulations.

Stakeholder management: Excellent abilities in interacting and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Commercial mindset: Strong business acumen and pragmatic and open-minded in the approach to solve commercial challenges. Good abilities in balancing legal and commercial interests.

International: International outlook and experience from working in an international environment.

Language skills: Strong English language skills and substantial experience with legal English.
