ROLE DESCRIPTION

JDE Peet’s is looking for a Legal, Compliance & Corporate Affairs Manager Nordics (“LCCA Manager Nordics”) to support the growth agenda in its Nordic business units (Denmark, Sweden and Norway).

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The LCCA Manager Nordics will be responsible for all Legal and Compliance in the three Nordic markets and provide legal advice to the Nordics organisation and management team in support of business growth and other operating objectives as well as to ensure that relevant legal and regulatory requirements are complied with at all levels of the organization.

In addition to advising the broader business on legal and compliance matters, the LCCA Manager Nordics will be responsible for Corporate Affairs. This includes managing and coordinating governmental affairs and communications not least in relation to JDE Peet’s sustainability agenda where the LCCA Manager Nordics plays a key role in the Local Sustainability Steerco.

Finally, the LCCA Manager Nordics will play a pivotal role in developing business strategy and be a member of the Extended Nordics management team allowing the LCCA Manager Nordics to work in close cooperation with the management team of JDE Peet’s Nordic organization, as well as of JDE Peet’s factories in Sweden and Norway and various corporate functions across JDE Peet’s Nordic organization.

As a member of the broader Europe LCCA team, the LCCA Manager Nordics will take part in shaping the LCCA strategy in Europe, as well as building the future of JDE Peet’s capabilities and ways of working.

As LCCA Manager Nordics some of your main responsibilities within Legal & Compliance will include:

  • Drafting, negotiating and reviewing local contracts and contractual documents (including sales, distribution, services and local procurement contracts), as well as local implementation of global partnerships and global framework agreements.
  • Providing commercial legal advice to the organisation on a broad range of commercial legal matters including commercial law, corporate law, contracts, marketing law and IP law.  
  • Maintaining and implementing corporate policies, compliance programs & procedures building on best practices from the broader LCCA team and acting as Local Compliance Officer for the Nordic markets with reporting to the Global Compliance Officer. 
  • Providing a company-wide perspective on legal and compliance risks in the Nordic markets and steering the management through the legal risks while taking into account all stakeholders’ interests.
  • Liaising with others functions to foster coordinated legal and compliance management, especially within Sales, Marketing, Finance and HR.
  • Delivering an annual legal and compliance program, including trainings to defined target groups.
  • Being responsible for law firm engagements in line with the global strategy and protocols, managing local legal budgets within defined thresholds and ensuring periodic reporting to the Regional LCCA Director Europe. 

Within Corporate Affairs your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating external communication and governmental affairs matters for the Nordic markets, ensuring that external factors including sustainability and reputational image are taken into consideration in alignment with the global communication guidelines.
  • Participating in and co-driving the Local Sustainability Steerco.
  • Engaging with external parties such as trade associations and institutions for subjects relating to the Nordic countries.
  • Advise the Nordic Management team and factory directors on internal and external communication issues, stakeholder management and external communications (e.g., media releases, speeches, etc.).

REPORTING AND COOPERATION

Reporting: You will report to the Regional LCCA Director Europe.

Title: LCCA Manager Nordics

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

Education: Master of Law (cand.jur.) or comparable legal education at Master-level.

Work experience: Minimum 8 years of post-graduate relevant commercial, compliance and corporate experience in Denmark, Sweden or Norway with an established law firm and/or in-house legal department.

Legal specialization: You have a solid broad experience within the area of commercial law, preferably with experience within commercial contracts (e.g. related to distribution and manufacturing), marketing law and / or competition law.

Corporate affairs: Ideally, but not as a requirement, you have some experience with trade associations and with advising businesses in public communication matters, e.g. in relation to parts of the broader corporate sustainability agenda.

International: Proficiency in English as well as one of the languages in the Nordics (Danish, Swedish or Norwegian) is a must.
