RESOLVA is assisting Nordea Finance with the recruitment of a Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel to support Nordea Finance’s four strategic business areas Epuipment Finance, Retail Finance, Receivable Finance and Car Finance.
Job description
As Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel, you’ll play a valuable role in partnering with Nordea Finance’s business and corporate functions in developing Nordea Finance’s operations and providing advise within a broad range of critical business and compliance areas.
Further, you will play an important role in product development and support all levels of the organisation, including management, in finding the best solutions to drive business projects and decisions.
As Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel you will be physically located within the Danish Nordea Finance Team in Taastrup, and you will be working closely with the rest of Nordea Finance’s Legal team and the rest of Group Legal (across the Nordics). You will also have the opportunity to sit part of the time together with Group Legal DK in Nordea’s Danish headquarter in Copenhagen.

Responsibilities
As Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel at Nordea Finance you will be responsible for:
- Advising on various leasing models and structures (e.g. financial leasing, operational leasing, sub-leasing) and negotiating and drafting the associated documentation both in domestic and cross-border leasing arrangements.
- Advising on all forms of financing of equipment and assets (both in relation to consumers and businesses), as well as consignment products and factoring.
- Structuring and managing security arrangements related to all Nordea Finance’s business areas, whether security is structured as floating charge, other forms of liens or guarantees, and handling associated documentation.
- Advising on regulatory requirements related to various products, e.g. legal credit worthiness tests as required by the Danish FSA and relevant legislation.
- Handling contractual breaches and repossession steps, including managing external counsel involved in relation to litigation.
- Advising on broader legal aspects of Nordea Finance’s business areas, e.g. insurance issues and registration taxes, and other regulatory matters.

Reporting to: Head of Nordea Finance Legal Denmark & Norway.
Your title: Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel.
Ideal skills
Education: Qualified lawyer (cand.jur. or cand.merc.jur.) with several years of post-graduate experience within relevant legal areas including corporate and commercial law, and securities law. You have a license to practice as attorney-at-law (“advokatbestalling”).
Credit arrangements: Knowledge of the financing industry, and practical experience with legal aspects of leasing, factoring and/or other credit and security arrangements, e.g. from a finance company, other financial institution and/or a law firm are an advantage.
Consumer and compliance regulations: Knowledge of specific compliance regulations relevant to financing arrangements is an advantage, e.g. the Credit Agreements Act, creditworthiness requirements and standards, bank secrecy and GDPR regulations, AML or insurance law regulations.
Language skills: Fluent in Danish and English (both written and spoken).
Business Acumen: Strong business acumen and solution orientated to ensure that the business makes informed risk-based decisions regarding new opportunities, markets, local initiatives and product and service offerings.

Pro-active and committed: In possession of a strong sense of ownership and drive and with the ability of working both independently and as a team member with a true interest in and commitment to developing the finance company business further.
