Too Good To Go is looking to recruit a Legal Counsel – Compliance & Corporate Governance to join the Legal team in Copenhagen.
In this role, you will report to the Director of Legal, Digital Regulatory Compliance and work at the intersection of technology, digital regulation and business operations. You will work closely with the Director on regulatory initiatives and projects across Too Good To Go’s global operations.
You will support Too Good To Go in navigating the evolving regulatory landscape affecting digital platforms, helping translate regulatory requirements into practical solutions for the business, while also supporting corporate governance matters across the group.

LEGAL TEAM
The Global Legal Team at Too Good To Go consists of 11 lawyers, one law student and an executive assistant working closely together; both internally within the team and with the entire Too Good To Go group of companies. The team has a highly international footprint and is spread across three continents: three lawyers (including the general counsel), the student and executive assistant are placed in Copenhagen, two lawyers work out of Paris, two out of New York City, one out of Berlin, one out of Amsterdam, one out of Madrid and one out of Tokyo.
The Legal team supports Too Good To Go’s global operations and works closely with teams across the company, including Product, Tech, Security, Operations, People & Culture and many more. The team provides advice across a wide range of areas including digital regulations, data protection, commercial matters and corporate governance, with the aim of enabling the business to move forward confidently and responsibly at pace.
The role will be part of the Digital Regulatory Compliance function within the Legal team, working closely with colleagues across the global organisation.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
In the role as Legal Counsel, you will play an important role in supporting Too Good To Go’s compliance efforts across several regulatory areas affecting digital platforms. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the development and implementation of compliance frameworks and internal processes relating to digital regulation and privacy.
- Advising colleagues across the organisation on regulatory topics including data protection and privacy laws, cookie and marketing regulation, cybersecurity (including NIS2), the Digital Services Act (DSA), the Platform to Business Regulation (P2B), the AI Act, the European Accessibility Act and other emerging digital regulations.
- Supporting the Legal team on data protection matters, including reviewing and negotiating data processing agreements (DPAs) and assisting with privacy-related assessments and documentation.
- Providing legal support and advice on cookie compliance and marketing regulations across relevant jurisdictions.
- Contributing to monitoring developments in digital regulation across the company’s global markets and helping translate regulatory developments into practical implications for the business.
- Assisting with responses to inquiries from regulators or users, where relevant.
- Preparing internal guidance, policies, and training materials to support the organisation in understanding and implementing regulatory requirements.
- Supporting colleagues across teams including Product, Technology, Security, Operations and People & Culture with day-to-day regulatory questions.
In addition, the role will include corporate governance tasks:
- Being the main contact to the Finance department from the legal team.
- Preparing board minutes and associated documents for issuance of warrants in the Danish holding company.
- Drafting AGM and board minutes related to governance requirements for the 21 group entities in EU, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
- Maintenance of relevant public registers in footprint countries related to group entities.

IDEAL BACKGROUND
Education: Qualified lawyer (cand.jur. or cand.merc.jur. or equivalent).
If you are a Danish-qualified attorney (Advokat), Too Good To Go offers the opportunity to maintain your admission to the Danish bar association while working in this role.
Work experience: Approximately three years of relevant legal experience, either from a law firm or from an in-house legal function.
Legal experience: Experience with fundamental data protection (including GDPR) and corporate law is required, but candidates are not expected to be experts. Further experience with other digital regulation (e.g. NIS2, Omnibus, DSA, P2B, CCPA, PIPEDA etc.) is a plus. Strong legal fundamentals and an interest in the regulatory landscape affecting digital platforms are key.
International: Comfortable working in an international environment and advising on regulatory topics affecting multiple jurisdictions.
Language: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Danish. Danish language skills are required as part of the role, which involves corporate governance and company secretarial work relating to Danish group entities.
