RESOLVA is assisting AIP Management with the recruitment of a Compliance & ESG Officer to further develop and strengthen the legal, regulatory and ESG functions in AIP.
AIP is looking for a dedicated and talented compliance professional who has experience with legal compliance within the financial or energy sector and with investments in an international environment, to take on a role as Compliance & ESG Officer. The job as Compliance & ESG Officer offers you a unique opportunity to take on the responsibility for further developing and strengthening the general legal compliance and ESG framework in AIP, as well as for supporting the organisation in its day-to-day business, including supporting from a regulatory perspective on investment projects and attending to ad-hoc requests.
In the role, your primary focus will be to ensure a high standard of regulatory compliance so that the investment activities of AIP are compliant with applicable legislation and carried out with a high degree of integrity and with respect for the investors’ interests. You will have a key role in providing regulatory support and advice in the establishment of future investment funds. You will support and provide regulatory advice across the various business units and jurisdictions of AIP, and you will, particularly, be advising and reporting on regulatory risks to the Investment Team, Asset Management, Investor Relations and the ESG functions within AIP.
In addition, you will have a key role in AIP’s ESG agenda in supporting the business and the ESG Manager in the implementation of any relevant EU regulation related to ESG (e.g. the EU Taxonomy and the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation). For the right candidate there will be an opportunity for a seat in AIP’s ESG Committee.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
As Compliance & ESG Officer you will head up the legal compliance efforts in AIP.
Your main tasks will consist of:
- Developing and implementing an overall legal compliance strategy for AIP and promoting a strong compliance culture across the organisation via, inter alia, awareness training and team presentations.
- Monitoring the integration of key ESG factors in future investments, including overseeing the ESG due diligence conducted by the Investment Team and external ESG advisors.
- Managing the implementation of any relevant EU regulation related to ESG.
- Analysing and implementing new legislation in the area of compliance and reviewing existing controls and procedures to identify gaps.
- Handling all ongoing correspondence with, and inspections by, regulatory authorities in the jurisdictions of AIP, in collaboration with the management and the relevant functions.
- Generally, identifying, assessing and mitigating regulatory compliance risks.
- Designing, implementing and continuously optimising best-in-class policies and compliance procedures and tools to comply with regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
- Undertaking various training sessions on regulatory compliance matters for the benefit of the organisation in general and in connection with onboarding of employees.
- Handling regular reporting to management on compliance related matters, and occasional reporting on compliance issues and incidents that may be identified.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES
Education: You are a candidate with a relevant master’s degree, e.g. Master of Laws or MSc in Business Administration and Commercial Law or another relevant field.
Work experience: You have minimum three years of post-graduation experience from working as a lawyer in a law firm and/or as inhouse counsel in, e.g., another investment fund manager, a financial institution, a private equity fund, a corporation within the energy sector or other corporation operating within a regulated industry with comparable compliance requirements. Experience with compliance and regulatory aspects of an investment fund manager is an advantage.
Legal compliance: You have a strong understanding of compliance, risks and regulatory issues in the financial sector or the energy sector and within the investment area, and you have experience with relevant regulations, such as the AIFM, EU regulations relating to ESG and you may additionally have knowledge of sanctions and “Know-Your-Customer” and “Anti-Money-Laundering” requirements.
Stakeholder management: You have great stakeholder management skills with an innate ability to create relationships with stakeholders externally as well as internally.
International: You have an international outlook and experience from working in an international environment.
Language skills: You are fluent in Danish and English (both written and spoken).
