IIP – Tax Manager

ROLE DESCRIPTION

IIP is on an exciting journey with increasing activity in and expansion of its investment areas. To form part of this journey IIP is looking for an experienced tax professional to take on the role as Tax Manager and become an integrated part of one of the largest investment houses in Denmark.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

As Tax Manager your first key area of responsibility will be to establish an in-house tax function at IIP with everything that entails in terms of defining the most critical tax work streams and priorities (advisory as well as compliance) in support of IIP’s activities.

In the position as Tax Manager, you will work closely with the investment, legal and finance teams in providing valuable tax advice.

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and prioritizing the key tax work streams and processes required to fully support IIP’s existing and expanding activities and investment areas.
  • Provide tax-related advice and support to IIP’s investment team and other internal stakeholders throughout the various investment processes from due diligence to post-closing of an investment.
  • Carry out tax structuring and tax due diligence of new investments of which almost all are international.
  • Manage tax compliance across investments, ensure continuously updated withholding tax documentation and focus on tax risk management in alignment with IIP’s tax principles.
  • Provide ad hoc tax advice to IIP’s organisation in support of the day-to-day tax matters of IIP.
  • Interact with external advisors in Denmark and internationally as required.

Reporting to: You will report to IIP’s General Counsel, Linda á Dunga Brøndum.

Title: Tax Manager

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

Education: Master of Business Adm. and Commercial Law (cand.merc.jur.), Master of Law (cand.jur.), Master of Science in Business Economics and Auditing (cand.merc.aud), or comparable education at Master-level.

Work experience: Minimum 6 years of post-graduate work experience preferably from a tax advisory or consultant firm, law firm, pension fund, private equity firm, corporate in-house tax function or similar.

Tax specialization: You are a talented tax specialist with sufficient practical experience to understand and work with a range of specialized tax areas relevant to IIP’s business, including various aspects of Danish and international corporate taxation, taxation of pension funds, tax structuring, tax compliance and/or tax reporting.

Investments: Preferably, you have experience with working in or advising the institutional investment sector or private equity.

International: Experience with working with international investment activities in an international environment is important, and proficiency in English is a must.
