SIEMENS MOBILITY – CONTRACT MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION

Siemens Mobility is looking for a skilled and business-oriented Contract Manager to join the Danish legal team. In this role, you will be responsible for contract management in relation to the Project (see definition below) and you will among other things lead and coordinate the contract management function on the Project, which implies negotiating and implementing contractual changes, handling claims, participating in meetings with various client representatives, other stakeholders etc.

You will be part of a small project team with a strong sense of unity, using each other as daily sparring partners, and you will get a unique opportunity to truly understand a long-term project. As Contract Manager you will be responsible for contract management (including providing contractual and legal support) on the “Electrification Program” – the electrification of the Danish railway, where you will have a central function in the project organization.

The Electrification Program is preparing modern infrastructure for the Danish Railway Network to operate electrical trains. Siemens designs, supplies, tests, and commissions a modern Overhead Catenary System (Sicat SX) and Power Supply System which set environmentally friendly framework contributing to significant reduction of CO2 emissions and noise. The electrification will cover the majority of the Danish Railway Network (1360 km x double track= ca. 2720 km) and enable the train operators to implement faster trains in the future as the system is designed and tested for speed up to 250 km/h (the “Project”).

The size and duration of the Project offer you a unique opportunity to shape your own role and become part of one of the country’s leading companies. You will be a full-time member of a vibrant and committed electrification project team where you will contribute with your legal expertise and contract management experience to the daily Project challenges. Organizationally, you will be based in the legal team.

You will be working partly from the offices in Ballerup and partly from “Energiporten” in Copenhagen SV.

The role does not as such involve regular travelling activities.

LEGAL TEAM

As Contract Manager you will be a part of the legal team at Simens Mobility in Denmark. The legal team is managed and functions as a joint department of both Siemens Mobility A/S and Siemens A/S that currently consists of 5 skilled professionals including 2 contract managers, 2 Senior Legal Counsels and the General Counsel of Siemens Mobility A/S and Head of Legal Siemens A/S, Anne Friis, who you will be reporting to.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

As Contract Manager, you will be handling a range of tasks including:

  • Representing the Project Organization as Contract Manager (Key Role) and coordinating the contract management function on the Project, including providing strategic advice to the Program Management, reviewing, drafting, and negotiating different contracts related to changes in scope of the existing contract, preparing claims and legal correspondence, leading disputes, supporting with change management, etc.
  • Ensuring proper understanding and application of the contract terms in relation to the client and other business partners and having a constructive/creative and solution minded approach to dealing with uncertainties and unforeseen situations.
  • Participating (and negotiating) in relevant project meetings with the client representatives and other business partners, e.g. in relation to legal agreements, claims and changes to the contract, as well as collaborating with various stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Analyzing contractual requirements, collecting a well-structured and thought through argumentation for specific discussions, assignments or disputes etc.
  • Overseeing and managing all legal-related documentation, including claims, correspondence, and changes, to ensure accurate tracking of tasks and adherence to deadlines.

Title: Contract Manager

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

Education: You have a Master of Laws (cand.jur. or cand.merc.jur.) and possibly also license to practice as attorney-at-law.

Legal areas: You have minimum 5 years of experience from a contract management or contract negotiation role and / or a law firm, and experience with construction law and
related contracts (including AB-terms or FIDIC). Further, you have experience with claims and disputes with respect to construction activities.

Contract Management: You have experience within contract management, preferable from other construction projects and know how to handle bigger contract complexes. This
would include solid experience and interest in negotiating, drafting and / or managing the fulfillment of construction contracts in close cooperation with internal and / or external stakeholders.

Stakeholder management: You have excellent abilities in interacting and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You constructively balance legal and commercial interests, and you are comfortable with flagging and challenging processes and decisions.

Language skills: You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in the Danish and English language.
